Once you’ve completed and revised your “Evidence and Sources” assignment, fill out the outline on the attached google doc. You will follow this outline as you write your research paper next week, so make sure your organization is clear and your evidence is thorough!
First, you need to fill in the topic/guiding question for each of the five body paragraphs. These can be the guiding questions I provided for each section of the “Evidence and Sources” assignment, OR you can edit them with topics/guiding questions that better align with the type of evidence you were able to find while researching your assassination. You are allowed to change the order of the topics/guiding questions as long as it maintains a clear structure and organization from one paragraph to the next. (For example, the aftermath of the assassination shouldn’t be discussed before providing relevant background about the person who is assassinated.)
Next, you need to choose the strongest quotes from your research for each of the five body paragraphs. Copy and paste the quotes and sources into your outline under the body paragraphs they support. You must have a minimum of two quotes, but YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIMIT IT TO TWO QUOTES!!!! You’re job is to fully explain and develop the topic of each body paragraph, so use as many quotes as you need to do this!!! (If you only include two quotes, make sure they are detailed and specific enough to provide a thorough explanation in your research paper.)
**DO NOT FORGET that each paragraph must include evidence from at least TWO SOURCES! You may include multiple quotes from one source in a paragraph, but there must be at least one quote from a second source in it as well.
**Also, do not forget to include at least two quotes from a book source in your outline. You do not have to include a book source in every paragraph; you just need a total of two quotes used in your outline and your research paper.
